The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor

August 10th, 2008 by scottiboy

This franchise is dope. The whole Asian theme, the extremely beautiful witch played by Michelle Yeoh, Jet Li as the Han Dynasty Emperor with his moves, the series of commedy typical of George of the Jungle err… I mean Brendan Fraser made the whole film worth the bucks!

One problem: seriously, whaddup with the effects? So old school. It’s obviously not Speilberg’s.. hehe.

But other than that, it was a fun watch!

The Dark Knight

July 26th, 2008 by scottiboy

it’s funny how a movie that dark was only pg-13 and then the da vinci code was r-18? big joke. we need a more intellectual mtrcb chair. nyaha

heath was really good, at least it proves it’s not the just the hype about his death that made the movie popular.

i hate christian bale’s "disguise" batman voice. it’s husky and scary and just not right. worse than white guy prince caspian trying to sound latin.

i’m not crazy about the cinematography (was there even any?), the lines compensate big time though. the whole dialogue about what a hero is or should be was enlightening to say the least. the twisted outlook of the joker was real real twisted big time. every word is priceless… psychotic big time. i love the part where he explains why he doesn’t plan… and how things work his way just the same. just fuuuucking wicked.

one thing: whoever plays the next joker has some really big shoes to fill.

When Them Pieces Don’t Fit Nomore

July 19th, 2008 by scottiboy

the thing about being in love (or something like it) is that you get vulnerable with someone. you get emotionally (physically in some cases) naked in front of the person and you’re really getting yourself all figured out. and that’s good thing yes coz trust and knowing the each other right through the core are all essential and shit according to love experts… yeah that too, those damn shrinks. which god ever said we could listen to those advices? (like they got a good one going on with themselves, ha! i’d like to know) anyways, i was saying… it’s supposed to be good.. but then.. later on after while you find reasons to realize you’re not in love anymore or you found out you never really loved the person in the first place…. things get messy, you start counting each others mistakes and faults and all those craps… you hurt and get hurt and then what? good byes. sometimes withou the good, just cold bye byes.

the thing is, you guys are apart already but the other person cannot unknow the things he or she has learned or got or felt from you. he or she is one of those people "who knows you through the core" and you get upset coz you don’t want that coz that’s person’t not part of your life anymore. and so you get ashamed of that person… you worry about a lot. you get paranoid, sometimes you mix all these emotions up with anger…

see how complicated that was? i was able to write that down coz i’m one of them love experts myself. nyaha. big efffin joke. there are no experts. fuck the shrinks! fuck rehab!!!! they don’t cure no shit. =p

my suggestion is? somehow keep the person in one way or another. just to kill the nagging feeling of loss or betrayal.. makeup sex or booty calls are so hot! haha.

god morning you guys. i’ll crash the bed. =p

So long Melody! I miss you…

June 3rd, 2008 by scottiboy

Melody was our pet cat. Some child left him when he was still a baby on our doorstep. He was real skinny then and I was standoffish to the little guy since I never really liked cats, I was a dog person. Slowly however, I fell in love with melody. It was me and my cousin who named him Melody - we thought he was a girl, the balls were just too small to tell!

Melody was very playful as a kitten. He would ran across the room, chasing me or anyone who walks by. He would play with yarns, catch rats or house lizards and play with them (before killing them of course). He was just an addition to my life. Something I never knew I could love so much. I probably even loved him more than I loved my ex’s.

He  passed away though like two days ago. I feel really really bad. I found out just today when I got home from Iligan. My mom and grams found him in the attic. He stopped eating for the last days he spent with us and he was always vomitting. When my mom told me, I couldn’t handle anymore conversation. I pretended I was tired and headed straight to my room. I cried. I loved Melody. He was a good friend. He never failed to perk me up. I loved feeding him. And cuddling him. And making him eat food right from my palm.

The home just doesn’t feel right without him. This is what sucks about life. You lose someone you love and it hurts like a bitch. I will never see Melody anymore, or hear his cries, or enjoy his beautiful sight when he sleeps, or spend holidays with him. He’s gone - for good. And I don’t know when this pain will end. But I’m thankful because Melody became one of the reasons why mylife was good. He made me laugh more. He made me appreciate more. He gave me and my family more reasons to bond as we watched him play or attack poor lizards.

So long Melody! You will always be part of me.

recounting the day at enchanted kingdom

September 25th, 2007 by scottiboy

last summer me and some friends hit enchanted kingdom. it wasn’t all fun really ’cause a friend of mine and i are going through some riff raff days before that and i was afraid that was gonna ruin the whole enchanted moment. well it did actually, lol. even when we were still at the process of getting tickets and shit i was really just pissed off at him and why i had to spend that day with a moron, haha.

so it was incredibly hot. the sun and even the pavement you walk on was effin’ hot. and my head was hot to start with, haha. but the day, all in all i think ended well. i tried to block the moron out of my head and suck on every single reason to be happy when we were inside. and it worked. we were getting at rides and deciding where to go next, not minding the heat the space shuttle was such a bitch i was barely able to walk when i got off, so scary, haha. nypho threw up of course ’cause he was hangover and got on the anchor’s away, haha, bad move. me and my crew even played paint ball at the end of the day and appreciated the enchanted kingdom fireworks display after that. there was just too much happiness and laughter to breathe. then, as i recount the things we did during the day, i realized one thing… silly thought really, i started wishig the closest people that i care about were there with me. haha. i know right? so gay. but for one moment, i thought about how my mom and dad and my favorite cousins and the good friends i valued would have love to be acting like kids again in a place full of strangers. i must admit that for a long time, i remembered how it’s like to miss someone.

for years now i have been trying to be tough. i guess one bad thing about closing your emotions is that you let go a part of you that’s sensitive and true. sensitivity i realized isn’t just some emotion which is bad or a sign of vulnerability. sensitivity is being smart. understanding something in a different light, appreciating something and giving value to even the most ordinary thing that the other people don’t give a shit about. sensitivity makes you stand out. sensitivity makes you complete. (you can even get laid because of sensitivity if you’re lucky, haha).

anyway, the reason i have been blocking it is because i had this thought that sensitive people either die early (bad experience =/) or never have much fun like the others. so i have been this tough indifferent person who gives tough advices to hurting people, who would say, "honey, no need to feel bad, life’s too short cry". But then, isn’t life too short to be hard too? Life’s too short to let go of moments and scenes where you could have acted softly about things and appreciated them more. Life’s too short not  to notice things. Life’s to short to not use the gift of being sensitive to yourself and to others. Life is too short, i should know that.

problem is, when people view you as this popular guy (ok so i concede i am? tsk, tsk, what do you care this is my blog anyway!) you gotta to live up to this image and try to act cool and shit…

Even so, i guess that’s no reason to suppress the ability to feel. so in an effort to try to embrace sensitivity back i guess i’d start at being easy with people who seek advices. i wouldn’t be much of that asshole anymore who would insist that life should be lived through a can of laughter and a bottle of beer. life is about happiness, yes, but it’s not about putting down valuable feelings that are the very reason why it’s so damn good to be alive in the first place. =)

cheers to the new me!

A Sensible Thing To Do: Educate the Producers of Hunt’s Pork and Beans

September 10th, 2007 by scottiboy

So it’s exactly 10 pm and I just had dinner. my room is kind of messed up and I was at the point where I was deciding on whether I should do stuffs or just go to bed snore when boom! The can of hunt’s pork and beans caught my attention. Not just because it’s empty since I chowed it like in less than a minute but because there’s this funny line on it that I cannot believe I just noticed now! Anyway I’ll try to be easy on attacking this food since not only has this become my favorite dinner but also because hunt’s pork and beans has accompanied me for the most parts of my life. Kindergarten and there’s no food, pork and beans! Grade school and I’m watching late afternoon cartoons, pork and beans! Pork and beans and I have had a good partnership and I don’t intend to betray the one can I owe a lot of my fullness from, ha-ha. Man, let me just start…

Hunt’s Pork and Beans. Rich Flavor Thick Sauce… Natural Source of Lycopene. Natural Source of Lycopene. There it is. Question: If it’s a natural source of lycopene, then why do the makers of hunt’s pork and beans consider this as something they should advertise? I mean if it’s natural that pork and beans is a source of lycopene (because of the tomato paste I assume) then it means all the other brands of pork and beans have this too. If you advertise something or if you have to put a label on your product then it has to be something that’s unique something that will tell the consumers why they have to pick your brand over the hundred others! I think that it is completely nonsense to talk about something that all the other products have since it’s like you’re in a way advertising for your competitors as well. Hunt’s should come up with new labels like "more pork than beans" or "our beans are better than yours" or something in that light. I do not see why out of the million things they could invent to brag about their product that they have to put in the front label the one thing which is natural to all other pork and beans. That just doesn’t make sense at all. It’s like Tide saying "will produce bubble when used". Really? How refreshing! And Surf produces what, clouds??

I turn the can some degrees and read the other side, and there it is… i found the thing that i was looking for. Written in black with no form of emphasis is the product’s claim of what is unique… it reads "a UNIQUE blend of nutritious Great Northern Beans and tender pork bits in the original rich, thick sauce." Bingo! The unique quality I was looking for. Now why does this have to be written at back and in small letters, in black, barely readable in the red paper??? Almost hidden really. Hunt’s pork and beans afraid to showcase this uniqueness? I don’t get it.

So I’m writing a letter and I’m sending this to CONAGRA GROCERY PRODUCTS CO., LLC at

Nebraska

,

USA

. Someone has to educate these people and that someone has got to be somebody who knows the product, buys the product, and have been with the product for quite a time and that someone is me. So I’m doing it and in the letter I will specifically demand that once they take my advice that they have to acknowledge that it’s my idea and that they honor the intelligence of a 19 year old for pointing out their major advertising flaw, haha. And that means I will have a contribution to the development of Hunt’s tradition. And that is just noble! =)

5 Reasons why: YOU SHOULD VIEW MY PHOTOS

June 16th, 2007 by scottiboy

Disclaimer: This is me acting drunk minus the liquor. Enjoy!

Well, let me just start by apologizing to my readers (that is if I have one other than my retarded friend Kevin who by the way has one or two reasons for apologizing to me as well) because it has been a while since i last created a post. I’ve been busy with my OJT and well, just with life, you know. A lot of things happened this summer, from the silly and senseless matters to nostalgia (which i kinda hate) to utopia (which is an exaggerated term i use for choosing and finding happiness) and well I intend to come up with individual posts on them.

This post as the title says will give you 5 reasons why you have to view my photos. Haha. What the fuck! Some of my friends are calling me vain. Whatever I take that as a new word to describe men who try to keep themselves clean (to compromise for their messy rooms and thoughts sometimes, hehe) and good looking (to compromise for the lack of good looking people around ‘em), haha. As you can tell by now this is just one of those easy and hopefuly funny reads but I promise to give you the most logical reasons why YOU SHOULD VIEW MY PHOTOS. Let’s start!

1. They carry the quintessence of modern art. Some of my photos have actually been edited using photoshop, hehe. So you will witness the product of the right side of my brain. Some of them are I’d like to call accidental artworks. These are those photos that resulted from my aimlessly dragging of buttons and then they just ended up looking great (in my own judgment which I trust and most people do as well, haha).

2. They take you to places. As you will see, my photos, most of ‘em, are taken when me and my friends were bored and were thinkin’ of ways to waste money. So we ended up traveling to places: in Tagaytay, Baguio, allover Metro Manila and Luzon, in Cebu, Camiguin and a lot more. You see if you view my photos it’s like you’ve gone to the places I’ve been at too. So unless you’re like us who are finding it real hard to keep our back accounts lower than the law allows, you can just stick to viewing my photos. =D

3. They can replace your lifestyle magazines. My photos actually will show you how you should live life. I know we’ve all heard the bullshit about how you shouldn’t let other people tell you how to live your own life. BUT that line actually goes only to people who have a plan. If you don’t belong to those people then my photos will give you an idea on how life should be lived. OR if you’re not sure if you belong to those people then ask yourself this question: Are you buying lifestyle magazines? If you’re answer is yes, then you definitely are one of those people without a goal in life. Time Magazine says that people who buy magazines like Good Housekeeping or Cosmo are subconsciously trying to figure out what they still have to make out of their lives. That’s why they kinda read the lives of other people to get an idea on how to live theirs. So by viewing my photos (we save you the burden of reading which we all hate that’s why you’re not reading this), you get a clue on how to make the best of life and save yourself the 150 bucks you’re saving for that latest edition of Cosmo.

4. They can replace your fashion magazines. Please look at my shoes and the things I wear. I can tell you where I bought ‘em just messages me. =p

5. They show the importance of friendship. Yes my dear readers the company of good friends is important. We all need to find some people who we know will always be there with us not only when we feel like wasting money or traveling the word but also when we feel down and screwed up. =)

Thank you for your time. Your comments are always appreciated.

Yours, Scottiboy c",#
